It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Howard Felix Gibson, at the age of 83, on November 24, 2016 in Salmon Arm, BC, surrounded by loving family and close friends.

Howard was born on December 17, 1932 in Matheson, Ontario and was the eldest of 7 children. Howard is pre-deceased by his parents Alonzo and Blanche and his brothers Darwin, Claire, Ross, and Myron.

Howard is survived by his wife Rae, daughters Jeannette (Lawrence), Margaret, Lucia (Willie), and son Albert (Christa); grandchildren Mandie (Ryan), Justin (Jennifer), Chad (Sharrah), Rhiannon (Jeremy), Christopher (Rachel), Riston, Tristan, Kaili and Riley; and, great-grandchildren Luke, Owen, Isabella, Nevaeh, Tenley, Airlie and Felix. Howard is also survived by his brother George (Shirley) and sisters Lynne (Rick) and Marie.

Howard was a man of faith and integrity who had a deep love and concern for his family. He also loved his god, Jehovah, with all his heart and devoted his life to sharing his strong faith and hope for the future with as many people as possible.

Howard was also highly respected at his secular workplace, Federated Co-op in Canoe, BC. “Gibby”, as he was fondly known at the sawmill, was a talented machinist, millwright and fabricator. He loved to work in his shop on the family farm and spent many hours working on his favourite truck “Old Blue”. He could fix any piece of machinery or equipment people brought to him.

Howard was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Salmon Arm, BC at 2.00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worldwide Work of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
