James "Jim" Hoskins

November 29, 1947 - May 30, 2019
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of James Hamilton Hoskins at the age of 71. Jim passed away quietly and at Bastion Palliative Centre on May 30th.
Jim was born in North Vancouver, and spent most of his working life at BCTel in North Vancouver and Salmon Arm. He loved to spend his time outdoors downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, hiking, camping, road and mountain biking. He enjoyed helping out with most of the local nature clubs in Salmon Arm, and was an avid member of the hiking/biking clubs in Kelowna, Vernon and Kamloops as well. He collected stamps and loved nature photography. Jim would say his pictures included "nothing of the hand of man" in them, "except trains".
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Colleen, his two sons David and Joe, with grandchildren Zac, Jacob and Daisy.
Our thanks go out to our GP, Dr. Angela Plessis and her office staff for their care and attention. Sincere thanks also to the diligent staff at the Palliative care unit at Bastion and Home Care personnel.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. A celebration of life and reception will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Fischer's Funeral Services. Please join us with your stories and memories of Jim.
