August 4, 1947 - December 18, 2019
Jeanette was the eldest daughter of Alexander & Hazel Kermack. Raised a country girl in her youth, she was the protector & boss to her younger sisters & brothers, as well as a "daddy's girl" through & through.
In 1968 she met the love of her life, Ejner Andreasen. Within in three weeks of dating on Jan 18,1969 they were engaged. When asked how she knew after such a short courtship that Ejner was "the one" she said "I just knew. We could talk & talk forever". The couple were married May 24,1969, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
The happy couple settled in Rosedale AB, welcoming three children into the family. After a time, they moved to Sorrento BC where they would settle in to the community for the next 41 years.
Jeanette always worked hard for the family. The first nine year as a home maker, then to get ahead, had juggled her careers and motherhood like a pro. She was an example to her children that it was never too late to learn or try something new. She was a sales agent, bookkeeper & more recently an insurance agent until her retirement. However, even in retirement she did not slow down.
Jeanette was part of many clubs & organizations in the area. She served on the board for the Shuswap festival of the art for many years. She was part of the Sorrento woodcarvers, book club, TOPS and doing many other volunteer positions in the community. She was always the "work horse", never front & center, but making things happen from behind the scenes.
Jeanette loved to knit, crotchet, do photography and above all be a Nama to her grandchildren; Richard, Andi, Clayton, Jody, Thomas, Alyssa, Jessica & Kristina.
Jeanette is predeceased by her father Alexander, mother Hazel, brother Donald, nephew Bruce and sister in law Kellie.
She is survived by husband Ejner, daughter Michelle, son Andrew (Ronnie) daughter Brenda (Clint), eight grandchildren, sister Dianne (Ed), sister Linda, brother Kenneth, special friends David & Donna as well as numerous nephews, nieces and many, many others.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin Goldberg and all the medical staff at the Salmon Arm General Hospital for Jeanette's care & support in her last days.
A service will be held in remembrance of Jeanette in the spring at the Notch Hill Cemetery for all her family & friends at a date to be determined.
We thank everyone for their love & out pouring of condolences.
