John Calver passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 14th.  He was born in Salmon Arm, son of Walter and Violet Calver. John was the oldest of four children, brother Doug, sister Betty and predeceased brother Terry.  He is survived by his loving wife, Myrna of 55 years; daughters Cindy Vit (Ron), Teresa Young (Roger) and five grandchildren Mario, Cianna, Shaylen Mason and Emma.  John also leaves behind brother-in-law Rick Anchikoski (Sharon), Raymond Anchikoski, several nieces, nephews and many good friends. John was well known in the community of Salmon Arm.  He belonged to the Salmon Arm Volunteer Fire Department, Elks Club.  After retiring from Petro-Canada in 1996 he continued to work part time in other jobs such as driving a school bus, logging and garbage truck.  John enjoyed playing golf, tennis, pickleball, he also enjoyed biking, fishing, boating and travelling, but above all he loved spending time with his family. John Calver had a great sense of humor, was fun to be around and had a great love for life. He will be greatly missed by all.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Salmon Arm Hospital in John Calver’s name. A celebration of life will take place on June 25th at 2 pm at the Gathering Place in Salmon Arm.
