John passed away peacefully on March 29 with his family by his side.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; children, Ginger (Alex), Valerie (Ken), Michelle (Paul) and Glen (Kathy), eight grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

John was born in Arran, Sask. on October 28, 1919. His family moved to BC when he was 6 years old. He grew up there until he joined the Royal Engineers in 1941-1945. He landed in Scotland in 1942 where he met and married Margaret, his wife of 71 years.

John loved gardening. His green thumb was the envy of all his neighbours, wherever they lived. He was a skilled carpenter; building and renovating homes, furniture and various wooden sculptures. John also loved to entertain family and friends with his harmonica.

A celebration of life was held April 9th at Fischer’s Funeral Services.

A special thank you to Dr. Currie and all the wonderful, caring nurses and care aides at Bastion Place; they are angels.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Association of BC or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
