It is with sadness that the family of Kathleen (Kay) Noel, announces her passing at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, on Sunday February 13, 2011 at 91years old.

Born in Davisburg, Alberta on August 15, 1919, the youngest of three children, Kay lived in Alberta for 45 years before moving to the Okanagan Valley. For several years Kay and her husband spent their winters in southern California.

Kay led an active life that was filled with many memories. Her activities included music, gardening, curling, bowling, golf and playing bridge. She spent countless hours serving various organizations; namely the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion and the Catholic Women’s League. Travelling was a huge part of Kay’s life. Far-off destinations included the British Isles, continental Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and areas of South and North America.

Subsequent to Kay and her husband owning and operating Silver Creek Store, Kay owned and operated the Armstrong Furniture Store. In addition to furniture, Kay sold appliances, sewing machines and fabric, and she taught the art of specialized sewing in the operation of this business. Above all Kay was a woman with an infectious smile, and a wonderful sense of humour. She was generous and people loved her company.

Kay was predeceased by her son Louis in 1980; her grandson Jamie in 1998 and her husband Felix in 2002 after over 62 years of marriage.
