Lisa Rolland was a widely known and much loved member of the Sorrento community. Lisa explored a number of careers in her life before embracing with all her heart her roles as wife, mother, and farmer. Her enthusiasm for her life on the egg farm in the hills above Sorrento shone clearly. She approached everything with boundless energy, whether it was the farm and family or garage sales, auctions, playing slow-pitch and bingo. Her involvement in her children’s education expanded into an interest in the well-being of children in the community and led her to be elected as School Board Trustee for Sorrento/Carlin area. Lisa’s children carry a legacy of her love of reading and her spirit of exploration of life’s opportunities.
Lisa passed away much too soon in the loving arms of her family at the Shuswap Lake Hospital. She is survived by her husband Daryl Dyck, daughters Kelsi and Sophie, stepchildren Chris (Loni), Matt (Coralynn), and Heather (Kenny) Dyck, sisters Denise (Don) Briard, Laurie Lenardon, and brother Paul (Rhonda).
Flowers are gratefully declined. Instead, family and friends are asked to make a donation to the “ Lisa Rolland Children’s Literacy Fund” administered by the Shuswap Community Foundation in support of the school district’s literacy programs.
On Saturday, January 7 at 3:30 pm family, close friends and work colleagues will gather at Bowers Funeral Home Chapel, Salmon Arm, BC to celebrate Lisa’s life.
