Lucille Doloris Cooke passed away at her home in Salmon Arm, BC on October 28, 2008 at the age of 80 years.
Born in Saskatoon, Sask. on June 27, 1928, Lucille was a longtime resident of Calgary moving to Blind Bay, BC in 2006 and then to Salmon Arm earlier this year.
Lucille met the love of her life, Don Cooke, when they were in grade school. They went on to be happily married for 59 years. Together they raised their three boys and spent many years enjoying their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lucille and Don built their second home, a cabin on Shuswap Lake and spent numerous happy summers there with their family, who will continue to enjoy the cabin for many years to come.
Lucille was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She loved life and was especially dedicated to supporting and cherishing her family and friends.
Lucille is survived by her loving husband, Don; sons Larry (Sandy) of Delburne, AB, Darrell (Christina Gamble) of Salmon Arm, Randy (Lorelee) of Calgary; grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer (Kelly Guard), Shane (Lynne), Amanda (Bruce Leonard), Brad, Justin, Logan, and seven great grandchildren.
A celebration of Lucille’s life was held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, Calgary, on Sunday afternoon, November 2nd at 1 p.m., with tributes shared by members of the family. Cremation with interment to follow in Queen’s Park Cemetery.
