In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel Louise English on August 7, 2023.
She is survived by Dorlynd her beloved husband of 65 years, her son Joe (Tracy), daughters Heather and Vicki (Peter), grand-daughter Cass (Rory), and great grand-children Elora and Ewen.
Muriel was born and raised in the Fraser Valley and went to school in Abbotsford and Langley. She trained as a Psychiatric Nurse at Essondale where she worked for about nine years.
She then took time off to raise her family and move to Salmon Arm. She later went on to complete the LPN Program and worked at Shuswap Lake General Hospital for over 25 years.
Family always came first for Mom, she was always there for us and had that special "mother's" sense when we needed her and would jump into action to be there for us. She was our strongest supporter and defender and loved us all with her whole heart.
As a family we had many adventures together; camping, boating and travelling. Mom and dad also share many stories of their RV adventures travelling around BC and across Canada. Mom loved snow skiing as well as water skiing which she did until she was 65. She loved her flower garden, especially her pink roses and also had a special love for rocks which she brought home from all her travels to place in her garden. She was a member of the Shuswap Quilters Guild and completed a number of beautiful quilts.
Mom loved to read and the picture of her curled up on her loveseat with a book is etched into our memories. She had mastered the art of telling a short story long which was one of her many endearing qualities, and this, along with her beautiful smile with that twinkle in her eyes will be greatly missed.
