In Loving Memory ~

It is with broken hearts that the family of Myrna Lynne Proznick announce her peaceful passing at the age of 84 yrs on 14 Feb 2024 at her home in Enderby with family by her side.

To the family she was known as Bobbi, to others she was Lynne.

Mom was born in Vernon BC on 16 Nov 1939 to Doreen and Gerald Wills. She was the oldest of two with her younger brother Wayne arriving on 12 July 1941. She was raised and attended all of her schooling in Vernon.

Summer was her favourite while growing up as she loved to spend time at Kalamalka Lake. She would hitch a ride or ride the train to get there from town. There was no one that could float on their backs for hours like mom.

She met Eddie (Dad) while attending a hockey game with her girlfriend Joyce. He proceeded to throw peanuts at her and as they say "the rest was history". They were married on a sunny day on 30 Nov 1957, only to have it snow the next day. The majority of her adult life was spent in Salmon Arm before she moved to her townhome in Enderby in 2016.

Mom was a stay at home mom raising her 4 children. Rick (1958), Troy (1960), Reni (1963) and Nikki (1965). She believed that first and foremost that family was everything. She was always there for her kids and grandkids with no questions asked.

She worked hard each summer canning all the produce from dad's huge garden (a task she hated but was thankful for in the winter months). Mom was an excellent cook, her family being her guinea pigs for all her new recipes. She loved to sew, crochet, crosswords to keep her mind sharp, whooping us at crib (she hated to lose) and taking piano lessons. She loved to sing but unfortunately could not carry a tune.

She enjoyed her time with the Kinette Club and Salmon Arm Ladies Golf Club. Her fondest memories were her Thursday golf dates with her bestie, Jo Yuzwa. Dad always knew it would be a weiner dinner on those Thursdays. The laughter those two shared can still be heard in the old neighbourhood. In her later years, it was her luncheons with her friends Iris, Dorothy and Doreen that she so enjoyed and cherished.

After dad's retirement they enjoyed many trips travelling in their motorhome. Many were golf trips with the Yuzwa's but most memorable for mom was the trip to Alaska with her parents and granddaughter Ricki-Lee, across Canada with dad and her final trip to New York with her cousin Mikki.

There are so many memories of gatherings at mom and dad's home. Good food, a ton of laughter and care playing. We will always remember her famous New Year's Eve parties with excellent food, laughter and playing whist. Mom also known for her open door policy, no neighbour or friends would be alone for Christmas dinner.

Mom was predeceased by her parents Doreen and Gerald Wills. Husband Edward (Aug 2005) and sister-in-law Marlene Wills.

She is survived by her son Ricky (Debbie), daughter Troy Durkee, son Reni (Amanda) and daughter Nikki (Brent). Seven grandchildren Ricki-Lee (Dwayne), Kylie (Drew), Travis (Amy), Sam (Raakel) Ryan (Nicole), Kate (Connor) and Jesse.

Step-Grandkids Derek and Becca and seven great-grandchildren (with two more to arrive in June) Michael, Matthew, Daxton, Luca, Adele, Branson and Charity. Her brother Wayne Wills and sister-in-law Maggie Morrice.

Her lifelong friends Sharon Seymour and Sato Matakato and her special fur baby and faithful companion, Roo.

Lastly, a huge THANK YOU to Dr. James Levins for his years of thoughtful, thorough and compassionate care of mom. She so appreciated your care of both her and dad over the many years that you were their physician. As a family no words can express the gratitude we have for your help in keeping her comfortable at home until the end.

Missing her already but forever in our hearts. RIP Mom.

As per her request there will be no formal service. If you wish too, you may donate in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
