Neil Oral “Bud” Nicklason passed away at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 after a short battle with cancer.
Bud was born in Kamloops, BC on October 22, 1955 and had been a lifetime resident of the Shuswap area. He started his working career cutting shake blocks, then moved onto operating logging trucks, cats and other machinery and was involved with the logging industry for many years. With partners, he started Notch Hill Wood Door and Millwork which he has been involved with for the past 20 years. He most recently purchased Custom Window and Door Works. Bud loved the outdoors, vacations each year to Hawaii or Mexico, attending auctions, fishing or just doing repairs on his machinery on weekends.
Bud will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Georgina; one sister, Bev (Lloyd) Reed of Sunnybrae; numerous nieces and nephews and many extended family members.
A celebration of Bud’s life was held from The Gathering Place, 350-30th Street NE, Salmon Arm on Saturday, October 6 at 11:00 am, with Capreece Bowers officiating. Interment followed in the Tappen Community Cemetery.
