It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Norman C. Fletcher on September 28, 2016 in Salmon Arm, BC at the age of 92.
Norm was born April 26, 1924 in Toronto, ON to parents Henry & Marie Fletcher.
Norman married Margaret Elizabeth (Betty) Wright on July 23, 1946. They have one daughter, Susan Louise.
Career: Upon completing the course work for a PHD Psychology at the University of Toronto in 1956 Norm accepted a position as Assistant Professor at the University of New Brunswick. In 1958, Norm was asked to join The Systems Development Corp of California (a subsidiary of the RAND Corp) conducting programs for the R.C.A.F. and other Associations. Upon completion of his contract he accepted a position as Associate Professor at Concordia University in Ottawa, ON. At the end of his contract with Concordia he was asked to join Bell Northern Research in Ottawa as Director of Human Resources. He retired from there at the age of 65.
Norman is survived by his loving wife Betty, of 70 years and daughter Susan (Les), Grandson Gregory Scott (Sheila), Robert Andrew (Vicki) and five great grandchildren Ashley, Madisson, Rebecca, Jonathan and Reagan. He is also survived by his brother Clifford and nephews John, Stephen, Rich and Ron.
There will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests you make a donation to a charity of your choice in Norman’s name.
