With heavy hearts and deep sorrow we announce the sudden death of Paul on December 24, 2020. Born on February 29, 1984 in Victoria, predeceased by his father Ian Whyte, survived by his loving mother Vicki Thompson, sister Lindsay, her husband Chad Kusisto, niece Kennedy, nephews Jack and Cameron, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.
In 1993, Paul moved with his family to Salmon Arm where he graduated high school. In 2005 he returned to Victoria to attend Camosun College and in 2010 obtained his helicopter pilots license.
He flew for Alpine Helicopters in Canmore, Alberta for 5 years, Aurora Helicopters in Vernon and Remote Helicopters in Slave Lake. Flying was his life's passion and he was well respected by all his colleagues. In the off season he also worked for Canada Post in Victoria.
Paul loved to travel and back packed through ten European countries in 2007 as well as trips to Thailand in 2009 and Croatia in 2018. He was very artistic with an exceptional talent in photography. Known for his love of animals, his constant companion for 10 years was his beloved boxer, Mason.
He will be missed by many and remembered for his kindness, compassion, intellect, honesty and integrity.
A celebration of life will be planned at a future date.
