Raymond Denis Arcand of Pender Island, BC, died October 16, 2023 at the age of 85.
Ray was born in North Battleford, Sask. His family moved to a dairy farm in Chilliwack in 1946 where he grew up and graduated from high school, eventually attending UBC to become a shop teacher. He taught for 29 years at Chase Secondary School retiring in 1997 when he moved to Bellingham and eventually settling on Pender Island in B.C.
Ray is survived by his first wife Janice, son Anthony, daughter Michelle, 3 grandchildren Cleo, Abbey and Odin.
And by his second wife Beth Arcand and her two sons.
Ray was a very talented and enthusiastic woodworker and canoeist leaving many beautiful examples of his skills. His motto was "Wood is Good".
