August 12, 1938 - September 10, 2019
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert J Jobe of SA. Bob was a longtime resident of SA having moved from Calgary in 1979. He was born on August 12, 1938 in Glacé Bay, NS, joined the military as a young man and served in the PPCLI for 20 years. He was a Master Sergeant and served in Calgary and overseas including a posting in Cyprus as a UN peacekeeper.
On moving to SA he met and married Terry Jobe and started a new career. He owned Bobs Home Service where he was one of the few people still servicing oil burners and spent many a cold winters night helping others get their heat back. He later took his gas fitters license and worked very hard supporting his family until ill health caused him to retire.
He is survived by his wife, Terry; sons Rob (Natalie), Gerry (Daniella) and Greg (Andrea); daughters Brenda, Theresa, Carrie, Heather, Yolanda and many grandchildren and great grandchildren nieces and nephews. Surviving siblings are: brother John (Leslie) and sisters Catherine (Bob) Stampe, Sybil (Hal) Laprise, Rita Horsbourg and Anita (Pat) Sulley.
Bob loved boating, fly fishing and woodworking, his happiest times being on the lake and puttering in his shop.
