Roy Arnold Nore passed away on January 26, 2009 at the age of 92 years.  A prairie boy born in Kyle, Saskatchewan, he came to the Shuswap area immediately after the war where he worked as a heavy duty mechanic. Throughout his career he moved to several BC communities, but spent his retirement years living in Chase.

 Roy was one of the founding members of Ducks Unlimited in Salmon Arm and was also an active member of the Lions Club, Royal Canadian Legion and the BC Wildlife Foundation. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman and enjoyed woodworking and tying flies when he wasn’t out enjoying the wilderness.

Roy was predeceased by his wife, Blanche, daughter, Diane and granddaughter and is survived by three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Pioneer Lodge on Thursday January 5, 2009 at 1:00 pm followed by a tea at the Mountainside Room, Bowers Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Roy may be made to Ducks Unlimited or the charity of your choice.
