Vera passed away peacefully at her home in the Piccadilly Care Centre with her family by her side.

Vera was born in London, England and met her future husband John when she was just 16. They married when Vera was 19 and after 18 years of marriage and two children they made the big move to Canada. They lived in various communities in BC and another son, Trevor, was born during their time in the Queen Charlotte Islands. When John retired in 1981 they moved to Salmon Arm where they enjoyed golfing, camping and exploring the back roads of the area. Vera loved the spring with all the newborn calves and lambs in the fields.

Vera is survived by her son Ian (Karon) and daughter Rita (John), five grandsons, six great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years John (2008), son Trevor (2009) daughter in law Hope (2003) and eldest grandson Martin (1996).

A celebration of Vera’s life was held at the Deo Lutheran Church on May 9th at 1:30 p.m. Special thanks to Pastor Erik and the Ladies Auxiliary, Dr. Breugem as well as the wonderful caring staff at Piccadilly who took such good care of Vera.
