Vincent 'Lloyd' Reed

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Vincent "Lloyd" Reed, on April 27th, 2024 at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital. His daughter Theresa was by his side.

Predeceased by his parents Lily Frederia (Currie) Reed and Hugh "Earl" Reed.

Lloyd was born November 20th, 1933 and raised in Salmon Arm. On April 3, 1958, in Salmon Arm he married the love of his life Beverly Ann Maria Nicklason.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Bev, daughters Marcie (Greg), Calgary, Lisa (James) Armstrong, Theresa Sunnybrae. Grandchildren Danielle (Mike), Nicolette (Austin), Celina (Gord), Crysta (Darcy), Tevis, Alisha, Kyle, Justin (Piper). Great Grandchildren Ben, Max, Jenna (Brennan), David, Lee, Reed, Gwain.

Over the years he was actively involved in various service groups like the Salmon Arm Lions Club, 4H, baseball and AA. An amazing artist he shared his skills with many, be it wood work, leather work even colouring. He was also an avid outdoors man, hunting, fishing, camping. He loved growing things, his greenhouse supplied many with fresh veggies and flower starts. The summer and fall garden fed the neighbourhood.

He enjoyed music, played the guitar and harmonica. He liked singing old country music.

His empathy and generosity of spirit was felt by those around him.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Lloyd has found his wings and will be there watching over us.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests you make donations to the Charity of your choice in Lloyd's name. If you wish to support the Shuswap Lake Foundation, the staff there were amazing with his care during his illness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bowers Funeral Service on June 8th at 11 am, 440 10 St SW, Salmon Arm.

There will be a tea to follow at 2:00 pm at the Sunnybrae Community Hall, 3580 Sunnybrae-Canoe Point Rd.

A candlelight ceremony at the Tappen Cemetery at 8pm. 669 Tappen Cemetery Rd, Tappen, BC.
