Viola Margaret (Heinonen) Ylisto passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on September 28, 2016.
Vi was born in Sicamous on February 19, 1929, and spent her entire life on the family Homestead. She was predeceased by her husband, Ahti (Barney) in 2004.
She is survived by her sons, Gord, Ron (Deb) and granddaughters, Nicole, Rebecca (Joey) and Jordanne; as well as great grandchildren, Emma, Hannah and Emmitt; and her niece Shirley Blatchford and her family. Vi also leaves behind many wonderful long time friends.
In her early years she worked at the CPR Hotel, Finlayson’s and Bell’s family stores. Her interests included curling, bowling, crib, and taking pride in her home. Her entire life was devoted to caring for her family.
By her request, no formal service to be held.
On behalf of Viola Ylisto and family we would like to thank the dear friends who took the time to visit, call and send cards, the many crew members of the Ambulance, Dr. Beech and staff, the Nurses on level 2 & 4 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital and the Mt. Ida Mews team for all their care and support.
Lastly to Jack Bowers and team, we couldn’t thank everyone enough for all the things that have been done.
