On January 11, 2024 Willemke (Willy) Petronella den Biesen passed away at Shuswap Lake General Hospital surrounded by family.
Willy was born in Leeuwarden, Friesland, Netherlands on December 13, 1937 to Sietse and Elizabeth van der Werf, their second child.
She was predeceased by her son Ben in 1983, great grandson Elliott in 2016 and her brother Feddy in 2023.
Willy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jeff, daughter Bernice (Michael), son Andrew (Bonnie), daughter Claudine (Craig), five granddaughters and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Sjoerd (Alma), sister Vronie and sister Siepie (Jim) and many cousins and nieces.
A special reunion for family and friends will be held in the spring.
