On Thursday, July 23, 2009 Bill passed away at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home in Kamloops. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Avril; his children Pete (Holly), Rick (Karen), Marlene (Ken) and Cindy (Todd); his grandchildren Paul (Pat), Justin and Ryan. Born in Moose Jaw, SK on October 16, 1914, Bill moved with his family to McBride, BC when he was 4 years old. He joined the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry and served overseas in WWII; later, returning then to McBride and working for the CNR. In 1949, he married Avril Dobbie. Bill transferred with the railroad to Kamloops in 1966, where he stayed until retirement in 1977. Together, they moved to Chase in 1985 to continue with their fishing and traveling.
