Regarding the Blind Bay Resort development. We have witnessed and enjoyed all the quality improvements made at this property over the past six years and believe several points must be considered:
• Contrary to the apparent position taken by Scott Beeching, this is not a “travelling” destination. The fact that it’s a longer term destination is a complement to the economy of this region.
• The typical “travelling camping stop- over” that fit the description is generally unattractive and often invites what (developer Dan) Baskill refers to as “…the scene of late night summer revelry…”
• Blind Bay Resort is becoming a first-class resort/park that is commonplace at quality destinations throughout North America.
• Ray Nadeau appears to be guilty of influence at too many of the “SWAT” – “SLIPP” –“OCP” organizations that object to visionary developments that would contribute to the local economy.
• My own “observation” of the Salmon Arm Observer and letters to the editor, registers the consistent, over zealous, knee-jerk reaction of the “LLPC” crowd (left-leaning politically correct). Just one example: the Kamloops This Week opinion and three letters to viewpoint – April 19. I would recommend “the other side” support Mr. Baskill – get involved, check it out, investigate and respond from an ‘informed” perspective.
