I guess our area has been the target of a recent phone blitz by scammers somewhere in the world.
Our household has had three separate calls on three consecutive days, each one a little different, telling us that our computer has become infected, or that our computer has been talking to their computer, and another call suggesting we wanted to go on a “do not call list” which required some sort of further information be provided.
Each call was identified on my Caller ID as “unknown caller.” They have been relentless and I don’t know how long they will last, but we can deal with them until they give up. I always fear for unsuspecting seniors in the area. I’m so happy you printed this lady’s story -– it’s good to remind people how quickly they can fall into a scammer’s trap and sadly, we are living in a world now where the scammers are around every corner.
