Baseball tournaments are back in Salmon Arm.

It all started with the return of the Salmon Arm Minor Baseball 9U Johnston Memorial Tournament. Ten teams of eight-, nine- and 10-year-old players from Salmon Arm, Chase and Enderby battled it out over the May 27-28 weekend at Elks Park in the fun tournament.

All teams played four games over the three days, sending two Salmon Arm teams and two Enderby teams to the semifinals. Enderby Grey took on Salmon Arm Burgundy, while Salmon Arm Grey faced off against Enderby Blue. Both semifinals were fun games filled with big hits, amazing catches and lots of smiles. The games were won by the Enderby teams, making it an Enderby versus Enderby final.

After a hard-fought game by both teams, Enderby Grey was declared the 2023 9U Johnston Memorial Champion.

For the upcoming weekend of June 2-4, 150 11U players from Salmon Arm, Enderby, Sorrento, Chase and Revelstoke will be gathering in Salmon Arm’s Elk Park. They will take to the field starting Friday, June. 2.
