Salmon Arm residents have begun pedalling to work in support of Bike to Work Week, May 26 to 30.
Hosted by Shuswap Bicycle Club, the event wraps up Shuswap Bicycle Month, a campaign to promote and encourage bicycles as a major form of transportation.
Celebration stations will be set up at Uptown Askew’s, the Ross Street Parking Lot and city hall until May 30 so that riders can get fuelled up. The stations will serve juice, coffee and snacks.
The week concludes with a final celebration barbecue on Friday, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Ross Street stage. Local band Safeword will perform.
