Icebreakers douse Vernon Flames

The Shuswap Icebreakers were victorious over the Vernon Flames in Novice Ringette action this past Saturday, by a final score of 10-7.

The Shuswap Icebreakers were victorious over the Vernon Flames in Novice Ringette action this past Saturday, by a final score of 10-7.

It was a back-and- forth contest until  Shuswap tied it up 5-5 with just under six minutes left. Then the offence really went to work, scoring five more in the final five minutes. Vernon would come back late with a pair of goals but ran out of time.

Mikaela Curdyk and Cadence Petitclerc-Crosby had hat-tricks, and Hannah Patterson and Ewan Runciman each had a pair in the win. The Icebreakers play at home against Kelowna this Saturday.

AA on a roll

Junior AA celebrated a strong victory over the host Vernon U19 Belle Sunday, defeating the Belle 7-2.

Riley Pickrell led scoring with three goals and an assist, followed by Teigan Moore with two goals and two assists. Scoring one each were Alyx Rudderham and Taigan Radomske.

Megan Weatherill (2), Kianna Pak and Robyn Slamka all had assists.
