Oscar Mayes would open the scoring for the Tips late in the first period, slipping a wrist shot from the slot through the five-hole on the visiting netminder.

The Milers scored a pair to take the lead in the second, before Gage Parrell tied the game up for the ’Tips with a roof shot with five minutes left in the period.

The ’Tips, fell apart for the remainder of the period, surrendering three goals to go into the second intermission down by three.

Caleb DeHoog made it interesting for Salmon Arm, jamming the puck into the net early in the third, but the home team couldn’t maintain any serious pressure for the remainder of the game, falling by a final score of 5-3.

The Silvertips travel to Revelstoke to take on the Grizzlies next Saturday.
