Runners start season with wins

Salmon Arm Secondary Cross-Country Running Teams had a great opening to their season on Sept. 28 in Vernon. The SAS teams took first place in the Junior Boys, Senior Girls and Senior Boys categories with the Junior Girls placing second.

Salmon Arm Secondary Cross-Country Running Teams had a great opening to their season on Sept. 28 in Vernon. The SAS teams took first place in the Junior Boys, Senior Girls and Senior Boys categories with the Junior Girls placing second.

Results in the Senior Girls: Stella Mozin second, Liz Szoke third, Emma Shaule fifth, Taylor Bahen sixth, Meryn Sim eighth, Carmen Underhill ninth, Jasmine Hare 10th, Brittany Burge 12th and Heather Savage 13th;

Senior Boys: Thomas Hardy first, Kyle Flatman second, Brady Roy third, Tahvo Simonson fourth, James Whitehead fifth and Thibault Pellet seventh. Junior Boys: Don Robinson first and first overall, Jon Connor and Jon Bakker tied for third, Max Scharf seventh and Brody Burge 21st.

Junior Girls: Elena Bruns sixth, Lisa Petterson seventh, Tara MacMillan 10th, Eliza-Jane Kitchen 11th and Kaisha Fagrie 14th.

For Shuswap Middle School Grade 8s, Glynis Sim was first, and first overall, winning the Junior Girls race; Miya Kosowick was fourth, Taigan Radomske eighth, Jenny Petterson 9th, Faye Lacey 24th.

For SMS Junior Boys, Alexander Corbelt 12th, James Hardy 16th, Jake Stephens 20th, Chad Baker 22nd.

The team travels to Revelstoke today to race.
