Salmon Arm curlers slick with sticks

Two Salmon Arm teams place in top two spots in provincial curling championships.

Two Salmon Arm teams were victorious in the 2012 BC Provincial Stick Curling Championship over the weekend.
Twenty-eight teams from Saanich, Maple Ridge, Chase, Scotch Creek, Salmon Arm, Enderby and Armstrong took part in the event.
The top eight teams from round-robin play competed in  a double- knockout competition for the championship.
In second place were Don Blair and Beryl Kurtz, with the championship going to Brian Maurer and Kevin Baldock, all of Salmon Arm.
All other teams played a single knockout competition in a Consolation Draw.
In second place were Don Watt and Bill Hammer of Salmon Arm, with first going to Tom Kratchmer and Ron Martin of Enderby.
