‘Three-peat’ for mountain biking team

The Salmon Arm Secondary mountain bike won their third consecutive provincial title on May 28 in Port Coquitlam.

Salmon Arm’s riders competed in two races each,  a cross-country event with distances of up to 10 kilometres of very technical terrain and an enduro competition consisting of three timed downhill segments. SAS took 22 riders from grades eight to 12 to the event.

The riders, both male and female had stand-out performances across all age-groups.

Seth van Varseveld took first place in his age group for enduro and second for cross-country.

Jessica Brown took first in both enduro and cross-country.

Rachel May took third in both enduro and cross-country.

Aidan Hepburn took fifth in cross country.

Emily Williams was first in both enduro and cross-country.
