For the third year in a row, Dancing with the Shuswap Stars is a sold-out event.
This year, dancers and sponsors were limited in the number of tickets they were able to pre-purchase; as a result, more than 200 tickets were available to purchase by the general public during the ticket sale event at the SASCU Recreation Centre.
The higher ticket price reflects the plan for this year’s event to split the proceeds 50-50 between the Larch Hills chalet expansion and the Shuswap Hospice Society. The increase also helps offset the increase in costs associated with putting on the event.

The organizing committee is busy making sure this year’s event is every bit as good or better than the first two. While the dance competitions are at the centre of the evening, there will be a variety of showcase numbers to keep the audience entertained. Good food, good company, great performances and lots of laughter will once again make this an evening to be talked about.

Dancers are busy rehearsing for this year’s event and will have a chance to demonstrate what they’ve learned on Nov. 2 at a showcase at City Dance in Vernon. Those who would like to see the dancers perform live but couldn’t get tickets can attend this event at a cost of $20. For tickets, phone 250-307-4955.
Pre-voting is already taking place as supporters purchase stars for $5 online. Anyone interested in giving their favourite dancers a boost before the main event on Nov. 23 can go to www.shuswapstars.ca/stars-sold/ and buy stars. Click on Pro-Am or couples. These stars will be added to the stars purchased on the evening of Nov 23 to decide the winners.
