A Salmon arm man got a little too close for comfort to a local business, resulting in his arrest for breach of conditions.

On March 8, RCMP officers saw a 40-year-old man known to them, walking on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of Highway 1 in front of a business he had been ordered not to be within 100 metres of. They stopped and flashed their lights, at which point the man ran across the highway “fell into a ditch,” and then continued running, a press release from March 22 reads.

The attending officer gave chase, advising the man he was under arrest.

“After a brief foot pursuit, police caught up to the man, took him to the ground and placed him in handcuffs,” Const. Andrew Hodges said. “Charges of fail to comply with order and resist arrest have been approved against Aaron Baer.”

He has since been released from custody, with a court appearance on March 26.
