Original story
Salmon Arm RCMP have released new photos of a suspect vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident Friday night.
On Dec. 8 at 7:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a pedestrian who had been hit by a car.
The vehicle was heading west of 5th Avenue SW when it struck the victim, a woman in her 40s, at 3 Street SW. The woman was taken to hospital with significant but non-life-threatening injuries.
The day after the incident, police released blurry surveillance photos of the suspect vehicle, a light-coloured four-door car or station wagon, but have since obtained clearer images of the car driving west on 5th Ave. SW at 7:50 p.m.
“Salmon Arm RCMP are actively investigating this incident,” Const. Andrew Hodges said in media release. “And are requesting the driver to contact the Salmon Arm RCMP.”
Police are also asking anyone who can identify the suspect vehicle, which in a previous release they said has front end damage, or who has dash cam footage, to contact the local detachment at 250-832-6044 and reference file 2023-7627.
