Sewage. It’s not really a pretty word. It doesn’t conjure up a pretty image, either. The odour that accompanies it is particularly foul.

In the words of my five-year-old, it was like Christmas, Halloween and your birthday all rolled up in one for Shuswap MLA George Abbott on the weekend.

I’d like to thank Daryl McLeod for his excellent ‘a la Jonathan Swift’ letter re: Hosting Sturgis has long-term implications.

Where are the painted lines on our highways? This late into the winter the lines have virtually disappeared in many areas, making it hard to find your own lane of travel. Just think how much safer our journeys could be if the lines were freshly painted heading into the dark, winter season, instead of being faded after a summer’s exposure.

I write to say that the thought of hundreds of bikers coming to town for several days of fun is not something I care to be involved in or to endure.

Score one for democracy, sort of.

As to the clearing of snow in and around town, I am of the opinion that the City are failing in their duty to provide safety for their citizens.

Where in Harper’s Dream World has Gerald Hall (View Point letter, Jan. 26, Observer) been sleeping for the past 5 years?
