The 15th Annual Salmon Arm Kid’s Fishing Derby will take place this Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19 on the docks at the end of the wharf at Marine Park. The derby is open to all children 12 years and under and an awards ceremony will take place immediately following the derby. Trophies and major prizes will be handed out.

Salmon Arm Secondary Golds football attended the Spring Jamboree – its first of the season – in Kelowna this past weekend, playing three scrimmages against Varsity AAA Okanagan Conference competition.

Salmon Arm's Shuswap Swimming Team hosted a time trial and in-house swim meet on Saturday, June 11 focusing on three distinct goals: chasing down team records; having swimmers qualify to race at the provincial championships: and, thirdly, to divide the team down the middle into a Green team and a Gold team for a head-to-head dual meet.

Salmon Arm football player Matrix Gathergood charged his way through initial U18 Team BC tryouts, continuing his pursuit to represent the province at the 2011 Football Canada Cup.

Two local up-and-coming hockey officials are being sponsored by the Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association (OMAHA) to attend the BC Hockey Summer Officiating School in Osoyoos.

Canoe Creek Golf Course hosted the Zone II Ladies' Amateur/Senior Championships May 30 and 31 in Salmon Arm.
